Once all of the old roof materials have been removed we can re-nail the decking. Florida building code requires the roofer to check for proper nailing. The current requirement is a 8d full ring shank nail every spaced six inches. Most homes built 15+ years ago need the decking re-nailed.
Only after the city/county inspects our decking re-nail may we begin installing shingles. We normally receive the decking re-nail and underlayment (dry-in) inspection at the same time.
